Paramore confirm new single!

Paramore have confirmed that the next single to be culled from their Number One album, Brand New Eyes, will be The Only Exception.

Lamb Of God write song for Iron Man 2!

While the soundtrack for the upcoming Iron Man 2 will be handled by AC/DC, Lamb Of God have been tapped up to write a new tune for the accompanying video game.

“Working on a piece of music specifically for the Iron Man 2 video game was a new challenge for us,” said Lamb Of God frontman Randy Blythe. “A few of us are real game and comic fans, so the partnership with Sega has been really exciting. We can’t wait to play the game and hear our music as Iron Man kicks ass.”

The track, which is entitled Hit The Wall, will feature on the game which will be released by Sega in April.

In related news, Lamb Of God’s UK tour kicks off in Brimingham on February 9 and concludes in London on February 13. Click here for tickets.

Megadeth reunite with original bassist!

Megadeth have reunited with original bassist David Ellefson. The band will kick off their month-long Rust In Peace 20th anniversary tour on March 1 in Spokane, Washington.

“This shows the power of brotherly love and forgiveness,” says frontman Dave Mustaine. “David Ellefson belongs in Megadeth. Next we are going to show you the power of getting your asses kicked. Hard!”

“This is a huge moment for all of us, band and fans alike,” adds Ellefson. “It is a great celebration of the music from one of the biggest landmark albums of our career.”

Paramore guitarist to sit out band’s next tour!

Paramore guitarist Josh Farro will sit out the band’s upcoming tour of Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the Philippines and Singapore to plan his wedding.

“As some of you already know, I am engaged!” he wrote on his blog. “So, as weird as it is to stay behind, I need to take some time off to plan the wedding and everything. Because of that I will not be joining the guys on the Pacific Rim tour coming up. I feel really blessed to be able to take this time off, especially in the midst of this record cycle. The band has been extremely supportive and gracious to me about all of this which has made it a lot easier.

Farro’s replacment will be guitarist Taylor York’s brother, Justin.

“He’s an awesome dude, you all will love him,” Farro added. “Trust me, I know it’s strange having someone ‘fill in’ for me. I don’t like it anymore than you guys do, but this is the most important thing in the world to me and I trust you all will understand.

“I will be back soon,” he added. “[So] don’t worry! I love you guys. Thank you so much for all of your support and love. What you guys do for me and the band is out of this world. No one has fans like us. I shall see you all very soon.”

Jared Leto saves fans from alleged bomber!

According to internet reports, 30 Seconds To Mars frotnman Jared Leto saved fans from an alleged suicide bomber last night in Los Angeles.

Fans were gathered at The Hive in West Hollywood for a special screening of a new 30 Seconds To Mars documentary when, at approximately 8:30PM, a young man in a black hooded top stormed into the venue. He pushed his way to the front of the room and dropped a large box covered in gold wrapping paper at Leto’s feet.

When the singer asked him to leave the stage, the unidentified male said “It’s time for a little self-help” and is then said to have allegedly muttered something about having explosives. Upon hearing this, Leto wrestled with the man and dragged him out of the room.

“[It was] weird,” said one eyewitness. “Everyone in the room watched him walk toward Jared. Jared said ‘Someone stop him’ three or four times, but no one did. The guy got to Jared, dropped the box on the floor and started to give a speech. Jared grabbed him by the shoulders and basically [dragged] him out the back door.”

The alleged bomber was restrained by the band’s security guards until the police and bomb disposal experts arrived.

“I just finished with the police,” Leto wrote on his Twitter at 11PM last night. “They cleared five blocks and brought in the bomb squad and [sniffer] dogs.”

New Found Glory guitarist gets the all clear from cancer tests!

Chad Gilbert will be taking a break from New Found Glory’s current US tour while he recovers from surgery for suspected cancer of the thyroid.

According to news reports, doctors discovered a potentially cancerous lump on the New Found Glory guitarist’s throat three weeks ago after he went in for treatment for suspected pneumonia.

As a precaution, he underwent surgery this past Tuesday (January 26) and doctors removed his thyroid gland. Thankfully they didn’t discover any cancerous cells.

“They removed half my thyroid but no cancer,” Gilbert said in Twitter post. “Thanks for the prayers love you!”

His girlfriend, Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams, added: “Wanted to say to all our fans, friends, and family - thank you so much for all the love and support you’ve shown for Chad. Let’s never take what we have for granted. One life, one chance!”
