Scott Weiland starts clothing line!

Posted in News on February 19th, 2009

Former Velvet Revolver and Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland has started his own clothing line.

The singer created the range with designer Christopher Wicks, with clothes going on sale in US shops this month.

“I’ve always been interested in fashion - it’s a valid art form,” says the frontman. “And as I’ve gotten older, I’ve become more interested in sophistication; it lends itself to maturity without sacrificing the rock’n'roll side. After all, you can’t continue to dress like you did in your early twenties - unless you’re Keith Richards.”

Exclusive! Gerard Way to direct comic book movie?!

Posted in News on February 19th, 2009

My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way has exclusively revealed to Kerrang! that he’s in talks with Universal about turning his graphic novel series The Umbrella Academy into a film.

“There’s been a lot of progress on it,” Way tells K!. “Things in Hollywood move slow typically, but the comic was optioned as a film right before the San Diego Comic Convention last July. As soon as I got home from that I started meeting people at Universal and the film got fast-tracked and so recently I’ve been in talking to them about three times a week, first talking about the tone the film might have and then talking about screen writers who are going to work very closely with me when it comes time to do the film.”

As creator of The Umbrella Academy, Way has also hinted that directing is something he’d like to turn his hand to in the future.

“Directing is something I’d be really interested in,” he says. “People ask me if I would act, but acting to me is not nearly as exciting as directing would be. When I was talking to [video director] Mark Webb about the Ghost Of You video I was talking about the idea and I broke it down into shots and he’d said ‘You should really consider making your own videos eventually’. And I think that making videos would be fun and easy, but I’d definitely be interested in directing features. After this record cycle I’d be really interested in trying something like that.”

NIN to “disappear for a while”!

Posted in News on February 19th, 2009

Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor has posted a cryptic message about the future of NIN on the band’s official site.

Within the statement, the singer talks about the state of “corporate rock” and how it might be time for NIN to “disappear for a while.”

“I’ve been thinking for some time now it’s time to make NIN disappear for a while,” said Reznor. “After some thought, we decided to book a last run of shows across the globe this year. The approach to these shows is quite different from last year - much more raw, spontaneous and less scripted. Fun for us and a different way for you to see us and wave goodbye…”

Hayley Williams FAIL!

Posted in News on February 11th, 2009

Paramore are busy demoing material for their upcoming, as yet untitled third studio album. However, according to frontwoman Hayley Williams, it’s not going so well.

I’m still finishing lyrics to some of the music demos we’ve already recorded. Some perdy good shtuff here!”

And the reason why the band were each staying home?

“I locked my keys in my car,” reveailed Williams. “I got a ticket for parking in a handicap space… Missed my court date for that… And I’m stuck here at home. There’s nothing to eat here but one pack of ramen. no, really.”
