No Doubt to reform in 2009!!!!!!

Posted in News on November 24th, 2008

Orange County ska punks No Doubt have revealed that they plan to reform for a tour next year.

“I think we should go out now, I don’t think we should wait,” wrote singer Gwen Stefani on www.nodoubt.com. “It would be so inspiring to get out there and play all those songs again.”

“I think that if we go out on tour it will inspire us to write,” she added. “I need to see the fans out there.”

No Doubt went on hiatus in 2004 after Stefani launched her solo career. The band have spent much of this year working on new material while waiting for Stefani to finish promotional duties on her 2006 sophomore album, The Sweet Escape.

Is it all over for Velvet Revolver?

Posted in News on November 21st, 2008

Things aren’t looking good in the Velvet Revolver camp. The supergroup - featuring former members of Guns N’ Roses - have been dropped by their label, RCA.

The band released their debut Contraband in 2004, selling almost two million copies in the US. Their 2007 follow-up, Libertad, sold only 301,000. Their lead vocalist Scott Weiland was fired in April and there are no signs of a replacement being found.

In other news, Weiland has hinted that he may quit touring in order to focus on being a father to his two young children.

“It pains me when I am gone for a month, even,” he told LA Weekly. “I come back and there’s differences - big positive amazing differences, beautiful differences - that I haven’t been a part of because I’ve been working.”

He will release his new solo album, Happy In Galoshes, on January 19 through Softdrive.
